SPRING/SUMMER 2023 TEAM

We are excited to launch the first spring/summer season of many focused on youth basketball development for our future Paschal Panthers. Our goal is to facilitate an environment for our future Panthers to develop, over time, what’s needed to become a strong and competitive winning program year-after-year.

Please read below what the Panther Basketball Club has planed for this spring/summer season. We would love for your child to be part of continuing to improve their skills in this new prep program built for the Paschal pyramid.

Who is this for?

Ideal for boys looking to keep training in the off season 1-2 times/week and compete in a game/tournament 1/month with other players they will most likely play with during their winter school basketball season. The team will be made larger so that when players are unable to attend practices or games, the team is still able to fully practice and fully compete.

Already on a club team? This program is built to be a come-as-you-can option, both time and cost wise. Ideal for boys that want more than weekly pickup games, and ideal for boys that may already be on a separate club/select team but desire to continue training with their upcoming school winter season teammates.

The Team - SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

Starts: Week of March 27th

Ends: Weekend of July 23rd

To kick off the 2023 Spring/Summer season we want to make this as easy as possible for all the kids to stay in the gym at least 1 time/week. Given spring and summer schedules are busy, the 6th grade Panther Basketball Club team will be comprised of 12-13+ rostered players to ensure we have enough at each practice and tournament to progress and compete as a full team while some teammates are unavailable. With each player’s season commitment, we are setup to offer a come-as-you-can environment for practices and games/tournaments while not overloading each child’s schedule.

The 2023 Spring/Summer PBC team will be for future Paschal Panthers, currently boys in the 6th grade (class of 2029). The season will facilitate weekly practices and monthly games/tournaments. The team will also participate in up to 3-4 clinics lead by ex-pro/college athletes.

Our goal is to develop a team that portrays a strong fundamental understanding of the game in preparation for fall ball and ultimately winter school teams being at McLean 7th-8th. We desire to develop culture and camaraderie amongst the players that will be playing together for many coming years as they continue to develop and grow though the Paschal Pyramid.

Practices

Practices will begin week of March 20th/27th and will consist of 1-2 60-90 minute practice per week. Practices are built to further the teams ability to improve both individually and together. The goal is we are curating each team in preparation for competing together as a school winter team. At practices we require all player wear a reversible jersey. (One side white & one side colored) If needed, practice jerseys are available to purchase.

Location will be in Fort Worth at McLean 7th-8th, or a nearby FWISD Campus/CERA/GameOn/R4 Gym, etc. Our goal is to facilitate community by training and practicing in our own community and gyms.

Open-Gym

Participate in open-gym pickup games with other 6th grade players, whether they are on the team or just looking to play weekly. Location will be in Fort Worth at McLean 7th-8th, or a nearby FWISD Campus/CERA/GameOn/R4 Gym, etc.

Clinics

Inclusive of practices this season we will have a few focused clinics for the team. At the clinic we will bring in ex-pro/college players to lead and push the players to advance in their basketball techniques.

Clinic focuses will be built around,

  • Strength - using your body during the game

  • Dribbling - advanced technique development and control

  • Shooting - developing an effective and consistent shot

Location will be in Fort Worth at McLean 7th-8th, or a nearby FWISD Campus/CERA/GameOn/R4 Gym, etc.

Tournaments

All tournaments are a 3 plus game guarantee. Trophies and medals are awarded to top 3 teams at each tournament. Our goal is to attend 1 tournament per month, or every 3-4 weeks. Currently considering the below tournaments. We will be looking at others also and will notify the team if changed.

COACHING

As the team is formalized we will identify a coach who will suit the team best for the Spring/Summer season. The coach selected will be one that demonstrates an ability to train and prepare the team for the speed of the game, both physically and mentally.

Costs

We have specifically designed the financial and time commitments necessary to join the Panther Basketball Club to be an affordable option for both new-to-off-season players and seasoned club/select players that may also be on other off-season teams. Our goal is that Panther Basketball Club becomes a strong developmental program for our future Paschal Panthers. Although the costs will be greater than a standard winter season of basketball, we aim to remain economical in comparison to joining a private basketball club or select team. All costs go directly toward paying for gym rental costs, coaching costs, special clinics and organizational/administrative fees necessary to participate in off-season tournaments.

Next steps

Commit to joining as a player! Simply fill out the JOIN THE CLUB form (top right) and we will reach out with all the necessary forms and paperwork to get going!

After committing to a team, each player will need to a game jerseys to be purchased. Game jerseys will be one dark set and one light set along with a shooter shirt. Jerseys are reusable season after season based on the size you order. We suspect each play can get 2 full years out of their jersey. Use for Spring/Summer and Fall seasons.

Once all players are committed and signed up we just wait for practices to start. Upon practices beginning we require all player to wear a reversible jersey to practice. (One side white and one side colored) If needed, practice jerseys are also available to purchase.

Games or tournaments are played every 3-4 weeks.

We understand all players have busy outside basketball schedules so teams are built a little larger to allow for still having a full roster as teammates are unavailable throughout the spring/summer season. This is a come-as-you-can opportunity. Some times you can make it and some time you cannot. Our goal is to provide multiple opportunities year round to do so.

What else?

There is A LOT more information that will be provided once committing to join. However if you do have specific questions please reach out to us by email at PantherBasketballClub@gmail.com

Due to our management team having other obligations throughout the week we have designated slotted times for them to check emails mid-day 3 times a week. (Mondays/Wednesday/Fridays) However, we do our best to respond promptly outside those designated times to follow up.
